Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Parallel multibody separation simulation using MPI and OpenMP with communication optimization

open access: yesJournal of Algorithms & Computational Technology, 2018
In this paper we investigate parallel implementations of multibody separation simulation using a hybrid of message passing interface and OpenMP. We propose a mesh block-based overset communication optimization algorithm. After presenting details of local

Physical workload and cardiopulmonary parameters in relation to individual capacity of bulk waste workers – a cross-sectional field-study

open access: yesJournal of Occupational Medicine and Toxicology, 2023
Purpose Waste collection is considered particularly heavy work, although no previous study has yet investigated the strain of bulk waste collection. The aim of this study is to determine the workload of bulk waste workers in practice. Method We conducted

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Introduction of Over/Under/Off Masses

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
In this paper, for the first time, we extend the Over/Under/Off Set/Logic/Probability used in uncertain theories (such as: fuzzy, neutrosophic and extensions) to the Over/Under/Off Mass that could be used in information fusion.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Sterile neutrinos with altered dispersion relations as an explanation for neutrino anomalies

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
Recently the MiniBooNE Collaboration has confirmed its anomalous excess in $$\overset{\scriptscriptstyle (-)}{\nu }_\mu \rightarrow \overset{\scriptscriptstyle (-)}{\nu }_e$$ ν ( - ) μ → ν ( - ) e neutrino oscillation data.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Symmetries of supergravity backgrounds and supersymmetric field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
In four spacetime dimensions, all N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supergravity-matter systems can be formulated in the so-called U(1) superspace proposed by Howe in 1981.
