Near-Body Grid Adaption for Overset Grids [PDF]
A solution adaption capability for curvilinear near-body grids has been implemented in the OVERFLOW overset grid computational fluid dynamics code. The approach follows closely that used for the Cartesian off-body grids, but inserts refined grids in the computational space of original near-body grids.

Aerodynamic forces and flows of the full and partial clap-fling motions in insects [PDF]
Most of the previous studies on Weis-Fogh clap-fling mechanism have focused on the vortex structures and velocity fields. Detailed pressure distribution results are provided for the first time in this study to reveal the differences between the full and ...

“Yin‐Yang grid”: An overset grid in spherical geometry [PDF]
A new kind of overset grid, named Yin‐Yang grid, for spherical geometry is proposed. The Yin‐Yang grid is composed of two identical component grids that are combined in a complemental way to cover a spherical surface with partial overlap on their boundaries. Each component grid is a low‐latitude part of the latitude‐longitude grid.

Numerical Simulations of the NREL Phase VI Wind Turbine with Low-Amplitude Sinusoidal Pitch
Currently, most wind turbine performance analyses and simulations are performed assuming constant pitch and yaw angles during each rotation. Nevertheless, induced vibration or rotor imbalance can affect the pitch or yaw angle within each rotation.

Best Practices in Overset Grid Generation [PDF]
Grid generation for overset grids on complex geometry can be divided into four main steps: geometry processing, surface grid generation, volume grid generation and domain connectivity. For each of these steps, the procedures currently practiced by experienced users are described. Typical problems encountered are also highlighted and discussed.
