Method for Suppressing Neutral Point Displacement Overvoltage and Suppression Circuit in Distribution Network

2018 China International Conference on Electricity Distribution (CICED), 2018
Neutral displacement overvoltage is harmful to power equipment. A method for suppressing the neutral point displacement overvoltage and its suppression circuit were proposed in this paper to restore it to a normal level. First, it is judged if the neutral point displacement voltage is greater than the set value.

Flexible neutral point displacement overvoltage suppression method based on backstepping control in unbalanced distribution networks [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems, 2023
Three-phase AC distribution networks are required to operate as symmetrically as possible for optimal performance, but the three-phase-to-ground parameters are asymmetric in the field due to network construction deviation, resulting in the three-phase ...

Load Rejection Overvoltage Suppression and Parameter Design Method of UHV AC Transmission Line

open access: yesElectronics (Switzerland)
UHV (ultra-high voltage) by instant AC transmission system is accompanied by huge reactive power transmission. When the load drops sharply, it is easy to produce serious power frequency overvoltage, which is also defined as load rejection overvoltage ...

Application of Superconductors to Suppress Ferroresonance Overvoltage in DFIG-WECS

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2022
While much attention was given in the literature to improve the fault ride through (FRT) capability of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind energy conversion system (WECS) during various faults at the grid side, not much attention was given to investigate and improve the performance of DFIG-WECS under ferroresonance conditions. This paper

Suppression of Incoming High-Frequency Overvoltage in Transformer Coils

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2021
High-frequency overvoltages are most dangerous for the insulation of transformer coils. It is because high-frequency pulse voltage creates an uneven distribution of voltage across the windings. The coil's first turns receive a disproportionately high voltage drop, leading to the inter-turn circuit.
