Study on the Correlation of Chemial Structure and Ovicidal Activities of 2-Bromoethylthiobenzenes

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1967
Ovicidal and chemical properties of many analogs of 2-bromoethylthiobenzenes were investigated. Replacement of the sulfur atom of 2-bromoethylthiobenzenes by an oxygen atom or a sulfone group, and that of the ethylene group by a trimethylene or a tetramethylene group lowered both the ovicidal activity and the chemical reactivities.

TOXICITY OF SOME CONVENTIONAL AND NONCONVENTIONAL INSECTICIDES AGAINST COTTON LEFWORM, Spodoptera littoralis (BOISD.) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection and Pathology, 2015
The ovicidal action of three novel compounds (emamectin benzoate, methoxyfenozide, pyridalyl) and conventional insecticide (methomyl) against (0-24, 24-48 and 48-72 hours age) eggs of Spodoptera littoralis was assessed.

Design, Training, and Field Validation of a YOLOv8‐Based Automated Trap for Remote Detection of Codling Moth, Cydia pomonella

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 3, Page 212-224, March 2026.
We developed and field‐validated a fully automated trap for Cydia pomonella monitoring, combining a camera with a YOLOv8 object‐detection model for remote insect identification. In controlled laboratory validation, the model showed strong performance (precision 0.77, recall 0.83), with moderate reductions under field conditions. Across six experiments,

A natural barrier: tick‐repellent potential of a spruce‐derived volatile blend against Hyalomma excavatum and Ixodes ricinus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 1481-1491, February 2026.
Both active and passive questing ticks, Hyalomma excavatum and Ixodes ricinus, were assessed for behavioural responses to two novel plant‐derived repellent volatile organic compound blends. Both tick species were repelled by the products, and both novo blends were significantly more repellent than currently available commercial products.

Ovicidal activity of Pochonia chlamydosporia and Paecilomyces lilacinus on Toxocara canis eggs

open access: yesVeterinary Parasitology, 2010
An assessment was made of the ovicidal activity of egg-parasitizing fungi Pochonia chlamydosporia (isolates VC1 and VC4) and Paecilomyces lilacinus on Toxocara canis eggs in vitro. The fungal isolates were inoculated onto Petri dishes with 2% water-agar (2% WA) and stored at 25 degrees C for 10 days in an incubator, in the dark.

Recent Advances in Lemongrass Essential Oil: Food Safety, Preservation, and Bioactivity in Food Systems

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Lemongrass essential oil (LGEO) has gained recognition as a natural preservative in food systems due to its distinctive phytochemical composition and multifunctional bioactivities. Dominated by citral and complemented by terpenes and phenolic compounds, LGEO demonstrates potent antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antibiofilm, and antioxidant

Oviposition-Stimulant and Ovicidal Activities of Moringa oleifera Lectin on Aedes aegypti

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Natural insecticides against the vector mosquito Aedes aegypti have been the object of research due to their high level of eco-safety. The water-soluble Moringa oleifera lectin (WSMoL) is a larvicidal agent against A. aegypti. This work reports the effects of WSMoL on oviposition and egg hatching of A. aegypti.WSMoL crude preparations (seed extract and

Ovicidal and larvicidal potential of Rosmarinus officinalis to control gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Parasitologia Veterinária
Gastrointestinal Nematode Infection (GIN) are the main constraint to the production of small ruminants. Studies of medicinal plants have been an important alternative in the effort to control these parasites.

Phytochemical Analysis and Insecticidal Activity of Four Plant Extracts Against Maize Weevil and Larger Grain Borer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Plant‐based biopesticides provide a sustainable alternative to synthetic insecticides for managing postharvest losses caused by maize weevil (Sitophilus zeamais) and larger grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus). This study evaluated the phytochemical composition and insecticidal activity of methanolic extracts of Lantana camara, Citrus sinensis, Moringa

Ovicidal activity of insecticides on the rice caseworm Nymphula depunctalis

open access: yes, 1981
This article 'Ovicidal Activity of Insecticides on the Rice Caseworm Nymphula depunctalis' appeared in the International Rice Research Newsletter series, created by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The primary objective of this publication was to expedite communication among scientists concerned with the development of improved ...
