The association of Fusobacterium necrophorum with late term abortion in sheep is reported. The bacterium was not culturable, but was identified in five cases by fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) with an oligonucleotide probe specifically targeting 16S rRNA in F. necrophorum. Gross lesions were found in several tissues. Histologically, placental

Ovine model of burn wounds grafted with ovine cadaver skin
Burns, 2022Shortage in autograft to cover burn wounds involves a frequent use of cadaver skin (CS) as a temporary cover to prevent infection, dehydration and preparation of wounds for subsequent autografting. We aimed to establish an ovine model of burn wound healing using ovine CS (OCS).

Histogenesis of the Ovine Uterus
Journal of Animal Science, 1987Reproductive tracts from fetal (d 55 to 150) and neonatal (d 9 to 3 mo) lambs were examined by light microscopy in order to describe ovine uterine histogenesis. Morphologically, d-55 and -60 fetal uteri were bipartite, though characteristic external cornual morphology was not apparent until d 100 to 110.

Abstract An acute interdigital dermatitis, with erythema and epidermal necrosis, was observed in South Eastern Australia in six flocks of sheep free of footrot in the period from late autumn to spring. In these cases Corynebacterium minutissimum was not demonstrated. Various diphtheroid bacteria including Corynebacterium pyogenes, dominated the dense
