Treatment of experimental ovine cryptosporidiosis with ovine or bovine hyperimmune colostrum

Veterinary Parasitology, 1994
Ovine or bovine colostrums with different antibody titers were tested for their ability to prevent cryptosporidiosis in five groups of neonatal lambs experimentally infected with 10(6) Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts 2 days after birth (Day 0). In a control group (Group 1), six lambs were deprived of ewe colostrum and exclusively fed with milk replacer.

Effects on Ovine Fetuses of Exposure to Ovine Progressive Pneumonia Virus

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1982
SUMMARY Fetuses of 20 pregnant ewes at 4 gestational periods (45, 55, 85, and 100 days) were inoculated with ovine progressive pneumonia virus. Fourteen of 16 fetuses exposed to virus before gestational day 80 were either resorbed or expelled, whereas 10 of 15 fetuses exposed to virus after day 80 were normal at birth.

Proteoglycans in ovine brain

Experientia, 1978
Sulphated proteoglycans were isolated using a dissociative method of extraction. Cerebrum accounted for the major portion of proteochondroitin sulphate in brain, whereas the brain stem fraction contained over half the proteoheparan sulphate. Chemical characterization studies demonstrated that heparan sulphate from cerebellum contain more N-sulphate ...

Toward Ovine iPSCs

Cellular Reprogramming, 2013
Abstract Interest in pluripotent livestock stem cells has been with us for over 2 decades, and although much has been claimed over the years, it is only recently that real progress has been achieved. The recent developments have revolved around the ability to reprogram somatic cells to become induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
