The Seizure-Associated Genes Across Species (SAGAS) database offers insights into epilepsy genes, pathways and treatments. [PDF]
Abstract Objective Decades of genetic studies on people with many different epilepsies, and on many nonhuman species, using many different technologies, have generated a huge body of literature about the genes associated with seizures/epilepsy. Collating these data can help uncover epilepsy genes, pathways, and treatments that would otherwise be ...

Statins as antiepileptogenic drugs: Analyzing the evidence and identifying the most promising statin. [PDF]
Abstract Many brain insults and injuries are “epileptogenic”: they increase the risk of developing epilepsy. It is desirable to identify treatments that are “antiepileptogenic”: treatments that prevent the development of epilepsy, if administered after the occurrence of an epileptogenic insult. Current antiepileptic drugs are not antiepileptogenic, but

Unmasking the tumourigenic role of SIN1/MAPKAP1 in the mTOR complex 2. [PDF]
SIN1 is a cornerstone subunit of mTORC2, stabilizing the complex and regulating its substrate specificity. SIN1 upregulation and overexpression are associated with many types of cancer and drive tumourigenesis. SIN1 is connected with other signaling pathways disrupted in cancer: Hippo, WNT, Notch, RAS and MAPK.

Assessment of information as regards the toxicity of T-2 and HT-2 toxin for ruminants. [PDF]
Abstract In 2011, the EFSA Panel on Contaminants in the Food Chain (CONTAM) adopted a Scientific Opinion on the risks for animal health related to the presence of T‐2 (T2) and HT‐2 (HT2) toxin in food and feed. No observed adverse effect levels (NOAELs) and lowest observed adverse effect levels (LOAELs) were derived for different animal species.

Estimating the Potential Modal Split of Any Future Mode Using Revealed Preference Data
Mode choice behaviour is often modelled by discrete choice models, in which the utility of each mode is characterized by mode‐specific parameters reflecting how strongly the utility of that mode depends on attributes such as travel speed and cost, and a mode‐specific constant value.

Multilevel time series modelling of mobility trends in the Netherlands for small domains
Abstract The purpose of the Dutch Travel Survey is to produce reliable estimates on mobility of the Dutch population. In this paper mobility trends are estimated at several aggregation levels, using multilevel time series models. The models account for discontinuities induced by two survey redesigns and outliers due to less reliable outcomes in one ...
