Abstract The spatial pattern of many pathogens that are transmitted by mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) is changing due to globalization and climate change. Thus, surveillance of mosquito vectors is becoming increasingly widespread as basis for risk assessment and control. Species identification by loop‐mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assays is

Phenotypic adaptation to temperature in the mosquito vector, Aedes aegypti
How climate affects the dynamics and distribution of mosquito‐borne diseases is of considerable public health relevance. Models often assume the relationship between temperature and transmission is fixed for mosquito species. We challenge this assumption with evidence for local thermal adaptation in Aedes mosquitoes, the primary vector of dengue virus.

Mosquitoes, notorious for their deadly impact as disease vectors, also hold economic value owing to their roles in disease transmission. The present study focuses on the importance of understanding mosquito gut microbiota for implementing innovative vector control strategies, thereby mitigating disease transmission.

Nature’s Solution to Aedes Vectors: Toxorhynchites as a Biocontrol Agent
This review summarizes the predatory potential of Toxorhynchites mosquitoes as biological control agents for Aedes vectors. A single larva can consume hundreds of mosquito larvae during its development, with preference for larger prey and higher consumption rates at higher prey densities.
