“Therapies Through Gut:” Targeted Drug Delivery for Non‐Gastrointestinal Diseases by Oral Administration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the mechanism of targeted delivery of nanoparticles including 1) paracellular, 2) endolysosomal escape, 3) receptor mediated endocytosis, and 4) M cell mediated transport for non‐GI diseases by oral administration such as atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, and brain diseases. Abstract Oral drug delivery is a promising approach

Ovum Transport in the Ewe [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Biological Sciences, 1972
Ovum transport was examined using 60 mature Border Leicester X Merino ewes, the time of ovulation being determined by endoscopy. By 6 hr after ovulation, all ova had reached the middle segment of the ampulla and some had reached the ampulla-isthmus junction (AIJ). At 8 hr, most ova were located at the AIJ.

Predicting harmful algal blooms: a case study with Dinophysis ovum in the Gulf of Mexico

open access: yes, 2014
Blooms of Dinophysis ovum and Mesodinium spp. have been observed in the Gulf of Mexico since 2007 using the Imaging FlowCytobot technology. Bloom dynamics of these two organisms in conjunction with ancillary environmental data for a 5-year period were ...

Salt‐Compact Albumin as a New Pure Protein‐based Biomaterials: From Design to In Vivo Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
A new class of materials built entirely of native albumin protein is designed using a simple protocol based on salt‐assisted compaction, breaking with current crosslinking strategies. This green process leads, surprisingly, to water‐insoluble handable materials with high preservation of their native protein structures and Young's modulus close to that ...

Investigation of the Effect of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome on the Expression of the Sirtuin-3 Gene in the Ovum of the NMRI Mice

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ’Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Īlām, 2022
Introduction: Increasing levels of free radicals in the ova reduce the quality of their fertilization. Investigations have revealed the elevated production of tissue and serum-free radicals in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Sirtuin-3 is located in
