Study on Ovum-pick up for Improvement of Embryo Transfer Efficiency in Hanwoo Cows

open access: yesJournal of Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology, 2017
Commercial applications of OPU/IVP were to produce embryos and calves from high genetic cows. The aim of this present study was to compare the number of recovered oocytes and cultured in vitro produced embryos from Ovum Pick-up (OPU).

Efficacy of repeated ovum pick-up in Podolic cattle for preservation strategies: a pilot study

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2020
The study evaluated the effects of eCG treatment prior to ovum pick up (OPU) on follicular population, oocyte and embryo yields in summer and autumn in Podolic cattle. The effects of repeated OPU on cattle wellbeing was also documented.

In vitro embryo production in Nelore cows supplemented with calcium salts of long-chain fatty acid

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2020
This study was performed to evaluate the effects of supplementation of lactating Nelore cows with calcium salts of long-chain fatty acids (Ca-LCFA) of soybean oil on in vitro oocytes competency, cleavage rate, embryo production rate, pregnancy rate, and ...

Experiences with transvaginal Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) in sows

open access: yesTheriogenology
Transvaginal ultrasound-guided Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) is an established technique in other species. Due to several challenges, there are few publications addressing the procedure in sows. An efficient OPU technique may allow for the collection of numerous oocytes from valuable sows for porcine in vitro embryo production, gene editing and cloning programmes,

Rapid Gamete Maturation and Social Modulation Shape Reproductive Dynamics in a Brood Parasitic Catfish

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, -Not available-.
Obligatory brood parasitism in the Lake Tanganyika cuckoo catfish requires rapid reproductive readiness to exploit unpredictable host spawning. Our experiments showed that males are almost continuously ready to reproduce, while females ovulate about once a week, with social interactions enhancing gamete maturation in both sexes.

Delayed intra-abdominal bleeding following trans-vaginal ultrasonography guided oocyte retrieval for in vitro fertilization in patients at risk for thrombo-embolic events under anticoagulant therapy [v2; ref status: indexed, http://f1000r.es/24f]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2013
We report herein, two cases of massive delayed (2 and 4 days) intra abdominal hemorrhage following ovum pick-up (OPU), in patients at risk for thrombo-embolic events, who concomitantly used therapeutic doses of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH).

Investigating the Modality and Signalling Principles in Immersive Augmented Reality Learning Environments

open access: yesJournal of Computer Assisted Learning, Volume 42, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The potential of Augmented Reality (AR) for enhancing learning has long been discussed, however, existing research primarily relies on media comparisons that provide little basis for robust theoretical development. The Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML) proposes design principles for learning materials to support ...
