Bond-specific reaction kinetics during the oxidation of (111) Si: Effect of n-type doping

open access: yes, 2010
It is known that a higher concentration of free carriers leads to a higher oxide growth rate in the thermal oxidation of silicon. However, the role of electrons and holes in oxidation chemistry is not clear.

Short Term Oxidation of a Ti-46Al-8Nb Alloy at 700°C in Air [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Thermogravimetry was used to study the oxidation behaviour of a lamellar Ti46Al8Nb alloy during holding at 700°C in synthetic air. A parabolic plot of the oxidation kinetics shows three different regimes over the total duration (50 h) of the tests ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Oxygen Transfer coupled to Oxidation Reactions: Numerical Tool for Optimizing Nutritional Quality of Food

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2009
Dissolved oxygen, due to atmospheric oxygen transfer through food, lowers the overall nutritional, chemical, and physical qualities of food during storage and marketing, causing food product less acceptable or unacceptable to consumers.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Kinetics and Mechanism of BaLaCuS3 Oxidation

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
The oxidation reactions of BaLaCuS3 in the artificial air atmosphere were studied at different heating rates in the temperature range of 50–1200 °C. The oxidation stages were determined by DSC-TG, XRD and IR–vis methods.

Effect of Cycle Frequency on High Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Alumina-forming Coatings Used for Industrial Gas Turbine Blades [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Oxidation kinetics of platinum modified aluminide and overlay coatings on nickel base superalloys were investigated. Isothermal oxidation tests were carried out at 1050°C in synthetic air. Cyclic oxidation tests were performed with 2 cycle frequencies :

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Neural NetworkModeling of Oxidation Kinetics in Air of Steel-T21 Alloy Coated by Simultaneous Germanium-Doped Aluminizing-Silicon zing Process [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2013
In this work a pack cementation of germanium-doped aluminum and silicon coatings on low alloy steel type-T21 has been applied. This gives significant improvement in the oxidation.
