In order to explore the effects of Cr alloying on the wear and oxidation resistance of MoSi2 films, four kinds of (Mo1-xCrx)Si-2 (x=0, 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15) nanocrystalline films of differing Cr contents were fabricated onto Ti6Al4V substrates by a double

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Elevated Temperature Oxidation and Corrosion of a Titanium Aluminide Alloy [PDF]
Titanium aluminides are being developed to expand the temperature capability of titanium alloys with maximum service temperatures around 700*C. These materials also have the ability to replace nickel superalloys with potential applications in the high ...

Nitric oxide‐enhanced resistance to oral candidiasis
SummaryA murine model of oral candidiasis was used to show that nitric oxide (NO) is involved in host resistance to infection with Candida albicans in infection‐‘resistant’ BALB/c and infection‐‘prone’ DBA/2 mice. Following infection, increased NO production was detected in saliva. Postinfection samples of saliva inhibited the growth of yeast in vitro.

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Monolayer Doping of Si with Improved Oxidation Resistance
In this article, the functionalization of planar silicon with arsenic- and phosphorus-based azides was investigated. Covalently bonded and well-ordered alkyne-terminated monolayers were prepared from a range of commercially available dialkyne precursors using a well-known thermal hydrosilylation mechanism to form an acetylene-terminated monolayer.
