Ruthenium Active Catalytic States: Oxidation States and Methanol Oxidation Reactions

2011
New opportunities for narrowing the pressure and material gaps in studies of catalytic systems have been provided by the advances in synchrotron-radiation-based X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The recent achievements in this respect are illustrated by studies revealing the dynamics of the ruthenium oxidation state and the related to that ...

Quanticule Oxidation States

1969
It might be argued that the nine first chapters of this book are an expression of an extreme opinion in the inorganic coordination chemist, viz. that most chemical bonds are intrinsically heteropolar and always, at least as a Gedankenexperiment, can be split heterolytically in a coordinating part containing at least one lone-pair; and an electron-pair ...

Orbitals to oxidation state

1995
This chapter examines atomic orbitals. An atomic orbital is the wavefunction of an electron in an atom; its square gives the probability of finding the electron at that point. The Schrödinger solution defines the wave equation for the electron in the hydrogen atom as a product of a radial and angular part.
