Dual Activities of Oxidation and Oxidative Decarboxylation by Flavoenzymes
ChemBioChem, 2022AbstractSpecific flavoenzyme oxidases catalyze oxidative decarboxylation in addition to their classical oxidation reactions in the same active sites. The mechanisms underlying oxidative decarboxylation by these enzymes and how they control their two activities are not clearly known.

Effect of copper salts on hydrothermal oxidative decarboxylation: a study of phenylacetic acid.
Chemical Communications, 2020Decarboxylation of carboxylic acids is favored under hydrothermal conditions, and can be influenced by dissolved metals. Here, we use phenylacetic acid as a model compound to study its hydrothermal decarboxylation in the presence of copper(ii) salts but ...

Oxidative decarboxylation of naproxen
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1992The decarboxylation of naproxen (1H) and its salt (1-) was achieved by means of chemical [Ce(IV) or S2O8(2-)] and electrochemical oxidation. The product patterns were compatible with mechanisms involving single-electron transfer from the pi-system or the carboxylate moiety.

Oxidative Decarboxylation of Carboxylic Acids
Russian Chemical Reviews, 1980The present state of studies on the decarboxylation of carboxylic acids by various oxidation systems is described and the dependence of the yield and composition of the reaction products on the structure of the carboxylic acid, the type of oxidant and its ligand environment, the nature of the solvent, and the reaction mechanism is considered.

Oxidation and Decarboxylation of Citrate in the Presence of Ferrous Iron [PDF]
ALTHOUGH a paper by Wieland and Franke in 19281 described the induced oxidation of several hydroxy-acids in the presence of oxidizing ferrous iron, citric acid was not specifically mentioned, and its reaction under these conditions appears not to be well known.
