A Termite‐Inspired Alternative to Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A termite‐inspired composite of clay, cellulose, and lignin forms a dense fibrous network with concrete‐like strength (32 MPa) and superior elasticity, processed at ambient temperature. Abstract Clay combined with organic materials is used by termites as a strong and durable construction material for their mounds with minimal environmental impact. Here,

SORPTION OF CEFAZOLIN ON SELECTIVELY OXIDIZED CELLULOSE

open access: yesJournal of Chemists, Technologists and Environmentalists
Cefazolin sorption on oxidized cellulose was performed with the aim of obtaining biologically active fibers which, as drug carriers, have a possibility of prolonged release and  local application. Oxidized cellulose with 0.555, 1.464 and 2.276 mmolg-

The Oxidative Pretreatments of Cellulose for Cellulosic Superabsorbents

open access: yesJournal of Anatolian Environmental and Animal Sciences, 2019
Cellulosic superabsorbents (SAP) are produced by using cellulose and cellulose derivative blends with different binding methods, generally.  But cellulose in SAP leads decrease in water absorption and water bonding ability because of nonreactive character of cellulose based on its chemical structure.

A Solvent‐Free, Dry‐Processed Li‐Ion Battery Enabled by Dual Binders and Nanostructured Aluminum Current Collectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐binder dry‐processed electrode (DB‐DPE) combining PTFE and PVDF with a nanostructured Al current collector (NSA) forms a mechanically interlocked interface that significantly improves adhesion and reduces interfacial resistance. With an active material content as high as 96 wt.%, the NSA‐based DB‐DPE enables high‐mass‐loading operation (12.5 mAh
