Cyclic voltammetry of some quinoxaline di-N-oxides and quinoxalines in dimethylformamide [PDF]

open access: yesElectrochimica Acta, 1992
Abstract The first cathodic reductions of two series of substituted quinoxaline di- N -oxides and quinoxalines in dimethylformamide were measured. The effect of substituent on these reductions is reported and reversibility is discussed.

Regioselective Reaction of HeterocyclicN-Oxides, an Acyl Chloride, and Cyclic Thioethers [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
Treatment of electron deficient pyridine N-oxides with 4-nitrobenzoyl chloride and a cyclic thioether in the presence of triethylamine leads to the corresponding 2-functionalized product in up to a 74% isolated yield. The transformation can also be accomplished with alternative nitrogen containing heterocycles, including quinolines, pyrimidines, and ...

Regioselective Three-Component Reaction of Pyridine N-Oxides, Acyl Chlorides, and Cyclic Ethers [PDF]

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2017
A novel three-component reaction of pyridine N-oxides, acyl chlorides, and cyclic ethers is described. Treatment of an electron-deficient pyridine N-oxide with an acyl chloride in the presence of a cyclic ether at 25-50 °C leads to a substituted pyridine as a single regioisomer in up to 58% isolated yield.

1,4-Di-N-oxide quinoxaline-2-carboxamide: Cyclic voltammetry and relationship between electrochemical behavior, structure and anti-tuberculosis activity [PDF]

open access: yesElectrochimica Acta, 2011
To gain insight into the mechanism of action, the redox properties of 37 quinoxaline-2-carboxamide 1,4-di-N-oxides with varying degrees of anti-tuberculosis activity were studied in dimethylformamide (DMF) using cyclic voltammetry and first derivative cyclic voltammetry. For all compounds studied, electrochemical reduction in DMF is consistent with the

Bromocyclization of Unsaturated Oximes. Synthesis of Five-Membered Cyclic Nitrones (Pyrroline N-Oxides)

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 2006
The cyclization of a ribose-derived pentenose oxime with various halogen electrophiles showed bromine to be the most effective reagent, leading to 80% of L-lyxo/D-ribo-pyrroline N-oxides in an 84:16 diastereomeric ratio. In order to explore the scope of this facile process, several other γ,δ - unsaturated oximes were submitted to this reaction ...

Cyclic Conversion of the Novel Src Kinase Inhibitor TG100435 and Its N‐Oxide Metabolite by Flavin‐Containing Monoxygenases and Cytochrome P450 Reductase

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2008
TG100435 is a novel multi‐targeted Src family kinase inhibitor with demonstrated anticancer activity in preclinical species. Potent kinase inhibition is associated with TG100435 and its major N ‐oxide metabolite TG100855. The objectives of the current study were to identify the hepatic enzyme(

Thermal rearrangements of cyclic amine ylides. IV. Rearrangement of .BETA.,.GAMMA.-unsaturated 1-alkylpiperidine N-oxides: Formation of 1,2-oxazepine derivatives.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1984
The thermolysis of 1-methyl-2-vinylpiperidine N-oxide (13) resulted in Meisenheimer [1, 2] rearrangement to give the hexahydro-1, 2-oxazepine (23) and no [2, 3]-sigmatropic rearrangement product (24). Similarly, the 1-methyl-1, 2, 5, 6-tetrahydropyridine N-oxides (15), on heating, gave only the tetrahydro-1, 2-oxazepines (26, 27), together with the ...

Preparation of Metabolites by Chemical Reaction: Conversion of Antipsychotic Phenothiazines to their Sulfoxides and Tertiary Amino Cyclic Antidepressants to their N-Oxide with Hydrogen Peroxide Using Titanosilicate Catalyst

open access: yesJournal of Health Science, 2004
The aim of this study was to establish a preparation method needed to analyze the metabolites of an analytical procedure for antipsychotic phenothiazines and tertiary amino cyclic antidepressants by chemical reaction. These drugs were oxidized to their sulfoxide and N-oxide, respectively, with hydrogen peroxide using titanosilicate as the catalyst.
