Regulation of platelet adhesion by oxidized lipoproteins and oxidized phospholipids

open access: yesPlatelets, 2002
Activated platelets adhere to the endothelium and release vasoactive mediators which induce vasoconstriction and remodeling of the vessel wall. The influence of native and ex vivo oxidized lipoproteins enriched with oxidized 1-palmitoyl-2-arachidonoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphorylcholine (ox-PAPC), the major lipid responsible for the biological activity of ...

OKL38 is an oxidative stress response gene stimulated by oxidized phospholipids

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2007
Oxidized 1-palmitoyl-2-arachidonoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphorylcholine (OxPAPC) is present in oxidative modified LDL and accumulates in lesions of many chronic inflammatory diseases, such as atherosclerosis.

Comprehensive analyses of oxidized phospholipids using a measured MS/MS spectra library[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2017
Oxidized phospholipids (OxPLs) are widely held to be associated with various diseases, such as arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and cancer. To characterize the structure-specific behavior of OxPLs and their physiological relevance, we developed a ...

Obesity‐Associated TRIM15 Promotes the Proliferation of Esophageal Adenocarcinoma Through the YY2/FOXRED1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study identifies TRIM15 as a key driver in the development of obesity‐associated esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). Mechanistically, TRIM15 degrades YY2 through the proteasome pathway, suppressing FOXRED1 transcription and ultimately accelerating tumor proliferation.

The emerging roles of PAF acetylhydrolase

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
Platelet-activating factor (PAF), a phospholipid autacoid with potent effects throughout the innate immune system, is selectively degraded by two small families of PAF acetylhydrolases (PAF-AHs).

Vm–MSI: a Vancomycin–Antimicrobial Peptide Conjugate Combating Resistant Bacteria and Broadening the Antimicrobial Spectrum

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A series of vancomycin‐antimicrobial peptide conjugates is synthesized and evaluated to identify the optimal combination. Vm‐MSI, selected from multiple candidates, exhibited potent activity against vancomycin‐resistant and Gram‐negative bacteria by disrupting membranes and inducing oxidative stress, thereby expanding vancomycin's antibacterial ...

Phospholipid oxidation generates potent anti‐inflammatory lipid mediators that mimic structurally related pro‐resolving eicosanoids by activating Nrf2

open access: yesEMBO Molecular Medicine, 2015
Exposure of biological membranes to reactive oxygen species creates a complex mixture of distinct oxidized phospholipid (OxPL) species, which contribute to the development of chronic inflammatory diseases and metabolic disorders.
