3‐D Sustained‐Release Culture Carrier Alleviates Rat Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by Targeting STING in Transplanted Skeletal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
Schematic representation of mechanisms by which the 3‐D sustained‐release culture carrier prevents accumulation of ROS by continuously releasing C‐176@PDA‐NPs and inhibiting the cGAS‐STING activated by sudden hypoxia, thereby preventing ferroptosis and promoting differentiation in SSCs and ultimately attenuating IVDD progression.

Cobalt Single‐Atom Intercalation in Molybdenum Disulfide Enhances Piezocatalytic and Enzyodynamic Activities for Advanced Cancer Therapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
The single‐atom doped molybdenum disulfide piezocatalyst markedly enhances both piezoelectric and enzyme‐mimicking activities, accelerating glutathione depletion. It induces mitochondrial dysfunction and cell cycle arrest, ultimately driving apoptosis while inactivating glutathione peroxidase 4 to initiate ferroptosis.

Genetic Analysis of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids Biosynthesis Pathway Determines Four Distinct Thraustochytrid Types

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 27, Issue 4, April 2025.
Thraustochytrids exhibit four distinct polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) biosynthetic types: Type I (ELO/DES pathway), Type II (dual‐pathway) and Types III–IV (PUFA‐S pathway with varying gene losses). This genetic diversity in PUFA biosynthesis pathways provides new perspectives for understanding their evolutionary relationships and potential ...

Aspergillus Mycotoxins: The Major Food Contaminants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 9, March 6, 2025.
Mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus contaminate food products and threat to human health. The multifaceted biosynthesis pathways are first discussed and elucidated several global regulators of the mycotoxins in detail. How global shifts in temperature and water availability, driven by climate change, are key determinants of Aspergillus proliferation and

Mechanisms and Strategies to Achieve Stability in Inkjet Printed 2D Materials Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 3, March 2025.
Achieving stability during 2D materials ink formulation, printing, and solvent evaporation to ensure the quality of printed electronics has posed tremendous challenges. This study reviewed the principles and methods of maintaining the stability from three aspects: colloidal dispersion mechanisms of 2D material inks, “phase diagram” for predicting ...

Association Between TyG‐BMI Index and Hyperuricemia in Adult Women

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 8, Issue 2, March 2025.
TyG‐BMI demonstrates the strongest predictive power, emphasizing its utility as a practical tool for identifying hyperuricemia (HUA) risk in women. ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to explore the relationship between hyperuricemia (HUA), the triglyceride‐glucose index (TyG) and its derivatives in adult women.

Choline‐Based Deep Eutectic Solvents for Enzymatic Preparation of Epoxy Linseed Oil

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) hold the potential to serve as a sustainable and environmentally friendly substitute for supercritical fluids, ionic liquids, and organic solvents. Moreover, DESs have been demonstrated to assist in stabilizing the structure of enzyme. The enzymatic synthesis of epoxy vegetable oil in a DES‐system was developed in

The Malignant Transformation of Viral Hepatitis to Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Mechanisms and Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2025.
The malignant transformation from chronic viral hepatitis to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) involves intricate interactions among viral, host, and environmental factors. Key drivers of this transformation include viral integration, genomic instability, epigenetic modifications, oxidative stress, gut microbiota dysbiosis, chronic inflammation, immune ...

Refinement and curation of homologous groups facilitated by structure prediction

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract Domain classification of protein predictions released in the AlphaFold Database (AFDB) has been a recent focus of the Evolutionary Classification of protein Domains (ECOD). Although a primary focus of our recent work has been the partition and assignment of domains from these predictions, we here show how these diverse predictions can be used ...
