Structural and computational studies of Bi2WO6 based oxygen ion conductors
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 1998A combination of neutron powder diffraction and computer simulation techniques was performed on undoped and doped Bi2WO6 Aurivillius type compounds to clarify some of the factors controlling oxygen transport in these materials. Oxygen vacancies in doped compounds are randomly distributed within the perovskite-like slab.

Fast oxygen ion conductors—from doped to ordered systems
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2001This contribution briefly introduces the traditional acceptor doping of oxides, charge compensated by oxygen vacancies to bring about the oxygen ion conduction utilised in solid oxide electrolytes. It is next shown how a simple defect–chemical approach to defect–defect interactions is a useful first-approximation tool in the interpretation of data ...

Current-voltage curves from a Bi2O3_Y2O3 oxygen ion conductor
Solid State Ionics, 1988Abstract The solid ionic conductor cell Bi 2 O 3 Y 2 O 3 was used to the current-voltage behaviour under different temperatures and voltage scan rate, as is usually done in cyclic voltammetry in three-electrode cells using liquid electrolytes. The result shows that the reactions are different at the electrodes and a hysteresis effect is presented ...
