Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

The Transition from Singly to Multiply-Charged Anomalous Cosmic Rays: Simulation and Interpretation of SAMPEX Observations [PDF]
Multiply-charged anomalous cosmic rays (ACRs) can arise when singly-charged ACR ions are stripped of one or more of their electrons during their acceleration via, e.g., the process of diffusive shock-drift acceleration at the solar-wind termination shock.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Inner Magnetospheric Oxygen Torus Induced by Electromagnetic Ion Cyclotron Waves
Cold oxygen ions escaping from the ionosphere and temporarily trapped near the plasmapause form the oxygen torus. Mass‐loading by these oxygen ions significantly affects magnetospheric plasma processes.

$d-p$ model and spin-orbital order in the vanadium perovskites
Using the multi-band $d-p$ model and unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation we investigate the electronic structure and spin-orbital order in three-dimensional VO$_3$ lattice.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Electronic and Magnetic Properties Studies on Mn and Oxygen Vacancies Codoped Anatase TiO2
The electronic and magnetic properties of Mn and oxygen vacancies codoped anatase TiO2 were investigated. The calculated results showed that the TiO2 codoped with Mn and oxygen vacancies have a magnetic moment value of 3.415 μB per Ti31MnO63 supercell ...

The effect of experimental hyperoxia on erythrocytes’ oxygen-transport function [PDF]
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hyperoxia, calcium ions and pH value on the composition of major phospholipids in human erythrocyte membranes and erythrocytes’ oxygen-transport function. To create a model of hyperoxia, we saturated
