Promoting H2O2 production via 2-electron oxygen reduction by coordinating partially oxidized Pd with defect carbon. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Electrochemical synthesis of H2O2 through a selective two-electron (2e-) oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is an attractive alternative to the industrial anthraquinone oxidation method, as it allows decentralized H2O2 production. Herein, we report that the

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Rational Design of Covalent Organic Frameworks-Based Single Atom Catalysts for Oxygen Evolution Reaction and Oxygen Reduction Reaction

open access: yesMolecules
The rational design of high-performance catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is essential for the development of clean and renewable energy technologies, particularly in fuel cells and metal-air batteries.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Characterization of Pd Nanocomposites for the Oxygen-Reduction Reaction

open access: yesProceedings
Carbon nanocomposites are essential supports in fuel cell catalysts, ensuring dispersion, anchoring, and reactant access. Here, we demonstrated an in situ synthesis of Pd nanoparticles using electrogenerated hydrophilic carbon (EHC) matrix that acts ...

New Progress on Development of Oxygen Evolution Reaction Catalysts

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2017
In recent years, the electrochemical water splitting using renewable energy has attracted considerable attention for the production and utilization of hydrogen gas as a fuel. However, the high overpotential for the oxygen evolution reaction increases the

Oxygen reduction reaction on stepped platinum surfaces in alkaline media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in 0.1 M NaOH on platinum single crystal electrodes has been studied using hanging meniscus rotating disk electrode configuration. Basal planes and stepped surfaces with (111) and (100) terraces have been employed. The
