A guide to heat shock factors as multifunctional transcriptional regulators

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The heat shock factors (HSFs) are evolutionarily conserved transcription factors best known as regulators of molecular chaperone genes in response to heat shock and other protein‐damaging stresses. Vertebrate HSFs, HSF1‐5, HSFX, and HSFY, are implicated in various physiological and pathological processes, including organismal development and cancer ...

Towards DNA metabarcoding‐based haplotype for monitoring terrestrial arthropod communities

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
The wocDNA metabarcoding includes robust sampling, wocDNA genomic extraction and library preparation. High‐throughput sequencing (HTS) followed by bioinformatic processing for quality control. The creation of a community matrix from haplotypes for ecological diversity and phylogenetic analyses.

Canagliflozin protects cardiovascular function in type 2 diabetic coronary artery disease by regulating natriuretic peptide B

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin regulated the cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)‐protein kinase 1‐α signaling pathway through the natriuretic peptide B gene, thereby improving cell viability, apoptosis, and reactive oxygen species levels, and ultimately protecting cardiac function in type 2 diabetic patients with coronary artery disease.

Achilles tenocytes from diabetic and non diabetic donors exposed to hyperglycemia respond differentially to inflammatory stimuli and stretch

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Scheme depicting the experimental set up of the study. Achilles tendons and tenocytes were isolated from heterozygous (fa/+, non diabetic: non DMT2) and homozygous (fa/fa, diabetic: DMT2) Zucker Diabetic Fatty (ZDF) rats. Tendon degeneration, collagen type 1 alpha 1 chain (COL1A1) and alpha smooth muscle actin (αSMA) expression was determined in rat ...
