This study investigates whether gestational probiotic and vitamin D supplementation can mitigate CPF effects in Wistar rats. While supplementation did not reverse CPF‐induced deficits, it induced notable neurodevelopmental changes in control animals, underscoring the need for further research on prenatal supplementation safety.

Structural basis for the activation and ligand recognition of the human oxytocin receptor
Here, Waltenspühl et al. report the cryo-EM structure of active human oxytocin receptor in complex with oxytocin and with a heterotrimeric G protein, providing insights into this hormone system critically involved in the regulation of social behaviour ...

Oxytocin and social pretreatment have similar effects on processing of negative emotional faces in healthy adult males [PDF]
Oxytocin has been shown to affect several aspects of human social cognition, including facial emotion processing. There is also evidence that social stimuli (such as eye-contact) can effectively modulate endogenous oxytocin levels.

Extrapolating from Laboratory Behavioral Research on Nonhuman Primates Is Unjustified [PDF]
Conducting research on animals is supposed to be valuable because it provides information on how human mechanisms work. But for the use of animal models to be ethically justified, it must be epistemically justified.
