Catalytic ozonation of natural organic matter on alumina
The paper aims to show the potential of catalytic ozonation in the presence of alumina for the removal of natural organic mater from drinking water. An investigation into the efficiency of catalytic ozonation, ozonation by-products formation and their ...

Ozone: Science & Engineering, 2001
Abstract Ozone therapy has been used as a complementary medical approach for half a century but it has encountered skepticism by orthodox medicine because, particularly in the past, it has been used by practitioners and others without a rational basis and appropriate controls.

Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1987
Ozone plays a major role in the atmosphere, important chemical transformations in the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere all being initiated by the absorption of radiation by ozone. This article surveys laboratory data concerning the photochemistry of ozone, and indicates the relevance of the laboratory studies to interpretations of atmospheric ...

Global ozone depletion and the Antarctic ozone hole
Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 1992The secular trend of the Antarctic ozone hole has been studied with a two‐dimensional model which can simulate formation of polar stratospheric clouds and includes heterogeneous chemical reactions. Results from the numerical simulation have been validated by comparison with available experimental data.

Background/Purpose: The intention of this paper is to stimulate the interest for the ozone layer, especially among young colleagues in photobiology; the “layer” is not only important, but also fascinating. Conclusion: In spite of remarkably effective action, the recovery of the ozone layer will be a long‐term process.

Ozone has been recognized as a promising food processing agent, which is gaining interest in the food industry due to its oxidant properties. In order to generate commercial levels of ozone, the corona discharge method is generally used. However, there are other less mainstream methods of ozone generation, such as electrochemical and radiochemical ones.
