p-Aminophenol nephrotoxicity: Biosynthesis of toxic glutathione conjugates

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1992
p-Aminophenol causes necrosis of the pars recta of the proximal tubules in rats, and its nephrotoxicity may be due to glutathione-dependent bioactivation reactions. We have investigated the hepatic metabolism of p-aminophenol in Wistar rats and the cytotoxicity of formed glutathione S-conjugates in rat renal epithelial cells.

Simultaneous determination of N-acetyl-p-aminophenol and p-aminophenol with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) modified glassy carbon electrode

Talanta, 2011
A sensitive and selective method was developed for the determination of N-acetyl-p-aminophenol (APAP) and p-aminophenol (PAP) using poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT)-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry were used to investigate the electrochemical reaction of APAP and PAP at the modified ...

Theoretical studies on electrochemistry of p-aminophenol

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2007
Geometric parameters, vibrational frequencies and thermochemical values of p-quinonimine (p-Q) and p-aminophenol (p-AP) were computed by ab initio calculation (HF) and density function theory (DFT) with the 6-31G(d,p) basis set. Cyclic voltammetry with a goldren electrode of p-AP solutions in phosphate buffers at pH 7.30 showed that standard electrode ...

Paracetamol (N-acetyl-p-aminophenol, APAP) Threats: Therapeutic Clock

International Journal of Pharma Professional’s Research (IJPPR), 2023
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is without a doubt one of the most generally  utilized drugs around the world. As a non-prescription drug, paracetamol is  the norm and first-line treatment for fever and intense agony and is accepted  to remain so for a long time to come.

Stability of Aqueous Solutions of N-Acetyl-p-aminophenol

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1961
Abstract The hydrolysis of N-acetyl- p -aminophenol (NAPAP) in hydrochloric acid solutions of varying strengths at 70° and in buffered aqueous solutions in the pH range of 2 to 9 has been studied. The hydrolysis appears to be hydrogen and hydroxyl ion catalyzed.

Glass fibre reinforced composites of triglycidyl‐p‐aminophenol

British Polymer Journal, 1990
AbstractGlass fibre reinforced epoxy composites were fabricated from the matrix resins diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and triglycidyl‐p‐aminophenol (TGAP) using diethylene triamine as curing agent. The epoxy laminates were evaluated for their mechanical properties, dielectrical properties and chemical resistance.

P-aminophenol Fluorescence and determination in the Presence of Acetaminophen

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1979
The spectrophotometric and fluorometric properties of the aminophenols and of several compounds related to p-aminophenol were examined. A direct spectrofluorometric method for p-aminophenol determination at trace levels in methanol was developed and evaluated for the effect of inner filtering by acetaminophen.

p-Aminophenol induced DNA damage and cytotoxicity enhanced by autoxidation

Life Sciences, 1985
p-Aminophenol inhibits DNA synthesis and alters the structure of DNA. A decrease in sedimentation of nucleoids from cells treated with p-aminophenol was observed and this decrease in sedimentation was considerably less when cells were incubated with p-aminophenol in an atmosphere of nitrogen or at lower pH values.

p-Aminophenol excretion as an index of aniline exposure

Pure and Applied Chemistry, 1961
In order to obtain more data on the effect of inhalation plumbiferous dust by workers, a systematic examination was organized in a number of pigment factories in the Netherlands. Some experience had been gained from a former examination of an analogous nature held in factories where lead accumulators were manufactured..
