Stratospheric influence on tropical cyclone evolution
We developed a metric based on moist static energy to detect and quantify the intrusion of stratospheric air into the inner core of tropical cyclones. High‐resolution numerical simulations show that this stratospheric interaction forms warm anomalies (high‐level warm cores) in the upper troposphere.

Coupled diabatic and frictional forcing of single‐layer vortical flow
A single‐layer balanced model is used to illustrate how diabatic and frictional forcing of a primary balanced vortical flow can be coupled self‐consistently, including the advection of potential vorticity by the induced transverse circulation. The coupling is illustrated in the context of a developing tropical cyclone, in which boundary‐layer dynamics ...

ABSTRACT Drawing on intersections between the Ability–Motivation–Opportunity (AMO) framework and the Resource‐Based View of the Firm (RBV‐F), this research critiques key convergent and divergent theoretical aspects of Green HRM. This approach led to the formulation and implementation of a Fuzzy Importance–Performance Analysis (FIPA) method to evaluate ...

Unnatural Causes: Cryptocurrencies, Carbon Credits, and the rise of Neoliberalism from Below
ABSTRACT Klima is a carbon‐backed cryptocurrency running as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). In 2021, it had accumulated 9 million metric tons of digital carbon credits and reached a market value of more than US$1 billion. In 2023, its treasury stored twice as many carbon credits, but its spot price was a tiny fraction compared to 2021 ...

Influence of shear reinforcement detailing on the shear capacity of reinforced concrete beams
Abstract Alternative shear reinforcement layouts that do not fully enclose the longitudinal tensile reinforcement can significantly improve the constructability of reinforced concrete (RC) members. However, their influence on shear transfer mechanisms is not yet fully understood. To address this gap, an experimental program comprising 10 shear tests on

Teaching Thoughtful Statistical Inference: Stories for the World Beyond p < 0.05
ABSTRACT Statistical hypothesis tests and p values are poorly understood by many students of statistics. Poor application and misinterpretation of statistical inference procedures are common in published research. Over‐reliance on the “p < 0.05” threshold to claim “statistical significance” often masks weaknesses in the evaluation of statistical ...

ABSTRACT This work aims to provide theoretical and practical insights into coping with expatriation challenges. We show that both acceptance and action (problem‐solving) are needed, to manage different aspects of expatriate life. These two coping strategies are complementary and, to be beneficial, need to be applied selectively.

Clarity Without Credibility? Human Versus AI Abstracts in Otolaryngology
ABSTRACT Objective This study evaluated whether otolaryngologists can distinguish between human‐ and machine‐written abstracts. The primary question was whether large language models (LLMs) produce abstracts comparable in clarity and usefulness to human‐authored work, and whether reviewers can identify authorship with accuracy.
