P-matrix modeling of transverse-mode coupled resonator filters

1993 Proceedings IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium, 1993
We develop an efficient analysis and synthesis tool for the design of transverse-mode coupled resonator filters. We describe the energy storage effect and the electrical and mechanical loading effect with a one-dimensional model. The two-dimensional nature of the problem is taken into account by shape functions, representing the nonuniform velocity ...

P-Matrix Analysis of Surface Acoustic Waves in Piezoelectric Phononic Crystals

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2016
Large time/memory costs have constituted a significant obstacle for accurately analyzing surface acoustic waves (SAWs) in large size two-dimensional (2-D) piezoelectric phononic crystals (PnCs). To overcome this obstacle, this study introduces the unit P matrix and its associated cascading.

On matrices whose exponential is a P-matrix

Communications in Optimization Theory
Summary: A matrix is called a P-matrix if all its principal minors are positive. P-matrices have found important applications in functional analysis, mathematical programming, and dynamical systems theory. We introduce a new class of real matrices denoted \(\mathbb{E}^{\mathbb{P}}\).

Measurement Theory and the P‐matrix: Ramifications of Variable Choice

The FASEB Journal, 2016
Choosing which measurements to include in an analysis is often as much a matter of tradition and training as critical evaluation. Variable choice, however, may have unintended consequences on conclusions, especially in studies that assume these variables reflect evolutionary and developmental processes.

The P matrix methods for the quark model

Nuclear Physics A, 1987
Abstract Physical foundations of the P-matrix approach, connecting P-matrix poles to multiquark states, are explored. The QCB interaction is constructed explicitly for ππ, πN, πK, KN and NN systems. Deuteron and tritium characteristics are calculated.

Development of Fe-P Matrix Composites Containing Embedded Solid Lubricants

Materials Science Forum, 2014
In this work the processing of composites containing graphite or hexagonal boron nitride dispersed in a ferrous matrix alloyed with phosphorous was addressed, with the goal of developing self-lubricating sintered materials with high mechanical resistance. Phosphorous is an alloy element characteristic in powder metallurgy for promoting the formation of

A generalised P-matrix model for SAW filters

IEEE Symposium on Ultrasonics, 2003, 2004
The P-matrix model, which can be seen as a discrete version of the continuous COM model, is a well established tool to analyse the electro-acoustic properties of IDTs and reflector gratings. It relates both outgoing acoustic surface waves and the electric current to both incoming acoustic surface waves and the electric voltage.

Examining thePmatrix

Physical Review D, 1987
Exact model calculations are employed to test the reliability of methods using properties of bag-model states to obtain P- or F-matrix parameters.
