M-theory curves from warped AdS6 in Type IIB [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We establish a close relation between recently constructed AdS6 solutions in Type IIB supergravity, which describe the near-horizon limit of (p, q) 5-brane junctions, and the curves wrapped by M5-branes in the M-theory realization of the 5-brane ...

Gauged supergravity from type IIB string theory on Y^{p,q} manifolds

open access: green, 2006
We first construct a consistent Kaluza-Klein reduction ansatz for type IIB theory compactified on Sasaki-Einstein manifolds Y^{p,q} with Freund-Rubin 5-form flux giving rise to minimal N=2 gauged supergravity in five dimensions. We then investigate the R-charged black hole solution in this gauged supergravity, and in particular study its thermodynamics.

Instantaneous p-q Power Theory for Control of Compensators in Micro-Grids [PDF]

open access: green, 2010
The main objective of this tutorial is to present the basic concepts on the instantaneous p-q Theory and them show its applicability for controlling switching converters connected in a micro-grid. These converters can be used for connecting renewable energy sources (solar, wind, and others) to the micro-grids or for harmonic, reactive power or ...

Neural Network based p-q-r Theory for Harmonic Reduction and Neutral Current Mitigation

open access: diamondIEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2018
Three linearly independent instantaneous powers have been defined in the time domain in three-phase four-wire systems with the use of p-q-r theory. Any three-phase circuit can be transformed into three single-phase circuits by the p-q-r transformation Thus the instantaneous powers in any three-phase systems can be analysed as the same way of ...

A Review of Control Technique Applied in Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2022
In recent years, electronic transformers and electronic devices (nonlinear loads) have increased. These loads are the source of harmonics (non-sinusoidal and distorted waves) and the interactive force that affects the performance of the power system ...

Rational and quasi-permutation representations of holomorphs of cyclic $p$-groups [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Group Theory, 2022
‎For a finite group $G$‎, ‎three of the positive integers governing its‎ ‎representation theory over $\mathbb{C}$ and over $\mathbb{Q}$ are‎ ‎$p(G),q(G),c(G)$‎.

Experimental Validation of an Advanced Load-Shift System Operating as Shunt Active Power Filter [PDF]

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web, 2021
This paper presents a load-shift system with advanced functionalities for the power grid. When compared with the conventional approach, an advanced load-shift system allows the compensation of power quality problems on the ...

Harmonics Analysis of Input Current of 3-Phase PWM Rectifier

open access: yesAndalas Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, 2021
Rectifier is a non-linier load that causes harmonic distortion in the power system. Pulse-width modulation (PWM) method is an effective method in pressing the magnitude of harmonics in a rectifier application,  it provides an almost sinusoidal input ...

Quantum theories of (p, q)-forms [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2012
We describe quantum theories for massless (p,q)-forms living on Kaehler spaces. In particular we consider four different types of quantum theories: two types involve gauge symmetries and two types are simpler theories without gauge invariances. The latter can be seen as building blocks of the former.

Rook Theory, Generalized Stirling Numbers and $(p,q)$-Analogues [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2004
In this paper, we define two natural $(p,q)$-analogues of the generalized Stirling numbers of the first and second kind $S^1(\alpha,\beta,r)$ and $S^2(\alpha,\beta,r)$ as introduced by Hsu and Shiue [Adv. in Appl. Math. 20 (1998), 366–384]. We show that in the case where $\beta =0$ and $\alpha$ and $r$ are nonnegative integers both of our $(p,q ...
