Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Bounding surface plastic p-y model for a single laterally loaded pile in sand
In ocean engineering practice, laterally loaded piles are usually analyzed using the nonlinear Winkler foundation beam method, in which the soil-structure interaction is modelled by means of the p-y curve, but now the API/DNV rules are only valid for few

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Numerical Analysis of Laterally Loaded Piles Affected by Bedrock Depth
This study investigates the lateral behavior of pile foundations socketed into bedrocks using 3D finite difference analysis. The lateral load-displacement curve, pile deflection, and bending moment distribution were obtained for different bedrock depths ...

Asymptotic behavior of solution curves of nonlocal one-dimensional elliptic equations
We study the one-dimensional nonlocal elliptic equation − A ( ∥ u ′ ∥ p p ) u ″ ( x ) = λ B ( ∥ u ′ ∥ q q ) u ( x ) r , x ∈ I : = ( 0 , 1 ) , u ( x ) > 0 , x ∈ I , u ( 0 ) = u ( 1 ) = 0 , $$\begin{aligned}& -A\bigl( \bigl\Vert u' \bigr\Vert _{p}^{p ...

Design of Laterally Loaded Piles in Cohesive Soils Using p-y Curves
ABSTRACT The paper presents the results from a series of tests in Shanghai, PRC on laterally loaded single piles in a medium stiff clay. The diameter of the piles varied from 0.09 m to 0.60 m. The piles were instrumented with strain gauges to determine the moment distribution along the piles and the lateral deflections.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

New hybrid foundation solutions for offshore wind turbines [PDF]
This paper reviews latest developments of substructures for offshore wind turbines focusing on investigations and applications of hybrid foundations. Model tests and numerical analyses were used to simulate the loading of hybrid piles in sand.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
