Analysis of functional components of P300 by wavelet transform

Proceedings of the 20th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. Vol.20 Biomedical Engineering Towards the Year 2000 and Beyond (Cat. No.98CH36286), 2002
The wavelet transform (WT) was applied to event-related potentials (ERPs) elicited in oddball paradigm to investigate the presence of several functional components occuring in the P300 latency range. Quadratic B-spline WT was used to decompose the single-sweep ERPs into four octaves.

Identification of pain, intensity and P300 components in the pain evoked potential

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology/Evoked Potentials Section, 1993
This study examined the relationships among 3 components of the somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) to painful stimuli. Painful stimuli were produced using intracutaneous electrical stimulation of a fingertip and two levels of non-painful stimuli were produced by superficial electrical stimulation of a neighboring fingertip. SEPs were recorded from Cz-

Single trial independent component analysis for P300 BCI system

2009 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2009
A Brain Computer Interface (BCI) is a device that allows the user to communicate with the world without utilizing voluntary muscle activity (i.e., using only the electrical activity of the brain). It makes use of the well-studied observation that the brain reacts differently to different stimuli, as a function of the level of attention allotted to the ...

P300 Component of Event-Related Potentials in Persons With Asperger Disorder

Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, 2014
In the present study, we investigated auditory event-related potentials in adults with Asperger disorder and normal controls using an auditory oddball task and a novelty oddball task. Task performance and the latencies of P300 evoked by both target and novel stimuli in the two tasks did not differ between the two groups.

On the independence of the CNV and the P300 components of the human averaged evoked potential

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1975
We report an experiment designed to assess the interactions between the CNV and the P300 components of human event-related potential. Eight subjects were each presented with series of experimental trials on all of which either a 1200 c/sec or an 800 c/sec tone was presented.

A principal component analysis ensemble classifier for P300 speller applications

2013 8th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis (ISPA), 2013
Recent advances in developing Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) have opened up a new realm for designing efficient systems that could enable disabled people to communicate. The P300 speller is one important BCI application that allows the selection of characters on a virtual keyboard by analyzing recorded electroencephalography (EEG) activity.

Correlations between P300 components and regional cerebral blood flows

Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2001
To evaluate the diagnostic importance of event-related potential P300, the correlation between P300 and regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) was investigated in various brain regions in patients with multiple cerebral infarction (16 cases), chronic alcoholism (11 cases) and Alzheimer's disease (5 cases) and in seven healthy people.

Deception detection of EEG-P300 component classified by SVM method

Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Software and Computer Applications, 2017
This study will explore the differences in brain wave activity while a person is either telling the truth or being deceptive. A subject brain wave activities based EEG-P300 component will be monitored while they first respond truthfully and then falsely to questions in regards to a mock theft scenario. Eleven males whose age are around 24 ± 3 years old

[Normative aspects of somatosensory evoked P300 components].

EEG-EMG Zeitschrift fur Elektroenzephalographie, Elektromyographie und verwandte Gebiete, 1989
Using a somatosensory version of the oddball-paradigma the influence of age and gender on the P300-component and the comparison of the potential after stimulation of the right and left median nerve was studied in 30 healthy right handed volunteers (age: 20-35 years). Latency, amplitude, area and duration of the P300-potential were analysed.
