Simultaneous Wastewater‐to‐Hydrogen Upgrading via Mechanically Driven Piezocatalysis Over Ag‐ZnO Nanorods

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A piezocatalytic strategy enables simultaneous wastewater purification and hydrogen generation by harnessing mechanical energy. Complementary piezo‐induced charges are selectively directed toward oxidation and reduction pathways, achieving efficient pollutant degradation and continuous H2 evolution.

Lipoic Acid and Progesterone Alone or in Combination Ameliorate Retinal Degeneration in an Experimental Model of Hereditary Retinal Degeneration

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2018
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a group of inherited retinopathies characterized by photoreceptors death. Our group has shown the positive progesterone (P4) actions on cell death progression in an experimental model of RP.

SERRATE Regulates Floral Meristem Activity by Antagonizing SHOOT MERISTEMLESS and Repressing Cytokinin Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.

Effects of different sampling strategies on predictions of blood cyclosporine concentrations in haematological patients with multidrug resistance by Bayesian and non-linear least squares methods

open access: yes, 1995
The Bayesian method (BM) can use previous information for the optimization of dosage regimen. However, Bayes' law remains true when the parameters are obtained from the infinite population.

Abstract P4-10-11: An active approach to genetic counseling in Trinidadian women with breast cancer

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction Breast cancer (BC) is the leading cause of cancer death in Caribbean women. The prevalence of deleterious mutations in BRCA1/2, PALB2 and RAD51C among unselected BC patients in the Caribbean is 5-25%.

Synergized Tri‐Phase Anode via Purposive Ba2+ Doping at the La3+ Site in LaFe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ for Improved SOFC Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Purposive doping of low electronegative Ba2+ (0.89) at La3+ (1.1) site in LaFe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ induces the formation of a tri‐phase composite, which shortens Fe─O bond and lowers activation energy, thereby significantly improves electrical conductivity and catalytic activity, and finally offers a record‐high peak power density in La0.5Ba0.5Fe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ ...

Bilateral SERS‐Microneedle Patch for Co‐Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus and Tuberculosis Comorbidity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study introduced a U@mP@Au‐mediated bilateral SERS‐microneedle patch for analyzing glucose levels from ISF and sensitively detecting TB biomarkers from sputum, respectively. This integrated dual‐analyte detecting platform can be used for co‐diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) comorbidity, which was demonstrated in ex vivo ...
