Rational Design of a Synthetic Galliphore for the Diagnostic Nuclear Imaging and Treatment of Bacterial Infections

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
KO‐NH2 is a synthetic metallophore that preferentially binds Ga3+ over Fe3+ and is recognized by bacterial transporters. Photocrosslinking identifies CirA and Fiu as key uptake proteins in E. coli. KO‐NH2 enables targeted imaging and treatment of E. coli soft tissue infections.

In vitro and in vivo anti-Pseudomonas aeruginosa activity of a scorpion peptide derivative

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
IntroductionPseudomonas aeruginosa is an important opportunistic and foodborne disease-related bacterium, and the increasing antibiotic resistance of the pathogen leads to the urgent exploration of new and effective antibacterial agents. In this study, a

IL-18 Act as a Costimulus for Production of Interferon Gamma During Stimulation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infection

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2019
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) is the most important, resistant and dangerous organism in burn wound infections in human. Extracellular and virulence factors lead to tissue damage tissue damage during infection with P. aeruginosa. One important

Prevalence of twitching motility in Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from medical facilities -Prevalence of TM in P. aeruginosa isolated from medical facilities- [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic bacterial pathogen, the infection system of which includes the possession of type IV pili. Type IV pili-dependent twitching motility (TM) is important for attachment to the epithelium and biofilm formation ...

Host‐Specific Interactions Between Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa Impair Epithelial Repair in Chronic Rhinosinusitis

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is frequently associated with polymicrobial biofilms involving Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Interactions between these organisms are thought to influence disease severity, but the epithelial effects of exoproteins derived from patient‐matched cocultures remain poorly defined ...

Olfactory Function in Cystic Fibrosis: Outcome Measures, Olfactory Dysfunction Prevalence and the Impact of Management—A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Olfactory dysfunction (OD) is an increasingly recognized but under‐investigated comorbidity of cystic fibrosis (CF). Its prevalence, assessment methods, and response to CF‐directed treatment, including highly effective modulator therapy (HEMT) remains incompletely characterized.

Rewriting Tumor Immunity With Bacterial Membrane Vesicles: A Versatile and Potent Therapeutic Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Bacterial membrane vesicles (BMVs) emerge as promising platforms for cancer immunotherapy owing to their intrinsic adjuvant properties and tunable cargo delivery capabilities. Their ability to modulate the tumor microenvironment, enhance antitumor immune responses, and support personalized therapeutic strategies highlights their growing potential as ...
