To assess the repeatability of two optical techniques for measurement of central corneal thickness and to compare the validity of these techniques with standard ultrasound pachymetry.Corneal thickness was measured twice with Konan optical pachymetry, Orbscan optical pachymetry, and 3 times by conventional ultrasound pachymetry in 100 eyes of 50 healthy

[Pachymetry with a video slit lamp].
Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 2021Presentation and application of a method for pachymetry with the slit lamp based on the concept of a defined optical section. The visible width of an optical section on slit lamp examination with a 45° angle between the slit beam and the central corneal surface was determined in 103 eyes (68 with glaucoma and 35 in patients with keratoconus).

Systematic Error in Computerized Pachymetry
Ophthalmologica, 2010In a polycentric study, the influence of some of the most common variables capable of influencing the reliability of prekeratotomy pachymetry has been evaluated. The fluctuation in a sequence of measurements from the same point on the cornea with the patient in different positions (orthostatic and clinostatic), during progressive drying of the lacrimal

Prediction of ocular irritation by corneal pachymetry
Food and Chemical Toxicology, 1987Corneal pachymetry performed 3 days after application of a variety of test materials to the rabbit eye was found to be predictive of the eye irritation classification determined by observing the ocular response for 21 days. The test materials included NaOH, methanol, isopropanol, acetone, cyclohexanone, hexane and a shampoo. A 0.1-ml sample of the test

Incorporating corneal pachymetry into the management of glaucoma
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2009Intraocular pressure (IOP) results from a dynamic balance between aqueous humor formation and outflow. The simplest technique to measure IOP is indentation tonometry. Another technique is applanation. These methods are related to the elasticity of the eye, which mainly depends on its thickness and hysteresis.

For refractive surgical procedures and medical therapy a correct assessment of corneal thickness is crucial. We conducted corneal ultrasound pachymetry in 200 eyes, and found that the peripheral thickness was significantly greater than central thickness (0.669 versus 0.54 mm). The thinnest point was below the center.
