Incorporating corneal pachymetry into the management of glaucoma

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2009
Intraocular pressure (IOP) results from a dynamic balance between aqueous humor formation and outflow. The simplest technique to measure IOP is indentation tonometry. Another technique is applanation. These methods are related to the elasticity of the eye, which mainly depends on its thickness and hysteresis.

Corneal topography pachymetry

1997
For refractive surgical procedures and medical therapy a correct assessment of corneal thickness is crucial. We conducted corneal ultrasound pachymetry in 200 eyes, and found that the peripheral thickness was significantly greater than central thickness (0.669 versus 0.54 mm). The thinnest point was below the center.

Accuracy of ultrasonic pachymetry and videokeratography in detecting keratoconus

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1998
To compare the accuracy of ultrasonic pachymetry measurements and videokeratography-derived indices in distinguishing keratoconus patients from those with normal eyes.A subspecialty cornea practice (Los Angeles, California, USA) and the Keratoconus Genetics Research Project.Corneal thickness was measured by ultrasonic pachymetry at the center and ...

Intraoperative Corneal Thickness Measurement Using Optical Coherence Pachymetry and Corneo-Gage Plus Ultrasound Pachymetry

Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2008
Purpose To compare the central corneal thickness measured by online optical coherence pachymetry (OCP) and ultrasound pachymetry in normal cornea. Methods Forty-eight right eyes of 48 consecutive patients were enrolled in this prospective study.

Results of Ultrasound Pachymetry and Optical Coherence Tomography Pachymetry in Patients with Congenital Glaucoma and Healthy Children

Orbscan Global Pachymetry: Analysis of Repeated Measures

Optometry and Vision Science, 2005
ABSTRACT: Purpose. The Orbscan II is a hybrid slit‐scanning and Placido disc corneal topographer capable mapping global pachymetry over a 10‐mm corneal diameter. In this study, the repeatability of the Orbscan global pachymetry was determined.

Pachymetry of Donor Corneas

Cornea, 2004
To examine demographic differences associated with the central corneal thickness (CCT) of donor corneas and to investigate whether these differences confirmed previous clinical studies.CCT was prospectively measured using noncontact pachymetry among 704 eye bank corneas.

Comparison of ultrasonic pachymetry with orbscan in corneal haze

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2007
To compare the results of ultrasonic and Orbscan pachymetry in corneal haze not related to surgery. An institutionally based, prospective, controlled clinical trial included 40 eyes of 40 consecutive patients with corneal haze not related to surgery. Fifty normal eyes were used as a control group to calculate the customized acoustic factor. Corneal haze

Diagnostic Importance of Oct Pachymetry in Keratoconus

Czech and Slovak Ophthalmology
Purpose: To evaluate the value of AS OCT pachymetry as a method capable of detecting early differences between keratoconus, latent keratoconus and corneal astigmatism based on measurements of the parameters of corneal epithelial thickness and total corneal thickness. Methods: This study analyzed 162 eyes of 89 patients examined with a Zeiss Cirrus 500
