Abstract The 1430s were characterized by extreme weather conditions, food and fodder shortages, and high mortalities among animals and humans, although the severity of events and their consequences in England have received limited attention. The economic downturn and the depressed customary land market in this decade marked the beginning of the Great ...

Episodic, seasonal, and long term morphological changes of Coromandel beaches
The Coromandel Peninsula was subject to subdivision and development primarily since the 1960's. Much of the development that has occurred now renders protection from the existing beach systems which have typically been altered by development.

Pacific decadal variability and decadal ENSO amplitude modulation
Connections between Pacific decadal variability (PDV) and low‐frequency modulation of El Niño and Southern Oscillation (ENSO) amplitude are analyzed using observed sea surface temperature (SST) during 1900–2001. The variability of the first two Empirical

ABSTRACT We developed and evaluated a fishery‐dependent catch‐per‐unit‐effort (CPUE)‐based proxy index for juvenile Japanese anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) recruitment‐related variability in the southeastern coastal waters of Korea. The proxy was constructed from bimonthly CPUE of the smallest juvenile size class (20–40 mm) in the anchovy drag‐net ...

Factors contributing to uncertainty in Pacific Decadal Oscillation index
AbstractPacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) index is an important indicator of climate variability. However, large discrepancies are found among real‐time PDO monitoring indices maintained by several operational centers, with larger uncertainty exhibiting prior to 1950s and after late 1990s on seasonal to decadal time scales.
