WSN data gathering algorithm based on compressive sensing and matrix completion technique

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2018
The unreliable links and packet losing are ubiquitous in WSN.The performance of data collection algorithm based on compressive sensing is sensitive to packet losing.Firstly, the relationship between packet loss rate and CS-based reconstruction precision ...

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

A robust coding scheme for packet video [PDF]

open access: yes
We present a layered packet video coding algorithm based on a progressive transmission scheme. The algorithm provides good compression and can handle significant packet loss with graceful degradation in the reconstruction sequence. Simulation results for

CASPR: Judiciously Using the Cloud for Wide-Area Packet Recovery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We revisit a classic networking problem -- how to recover from lost packets in the best-effort Internet. We propose CASPR, a system that judiciously leverages the cloud to recover from lost or delayed packets.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Coded Slotted ALOHA with Varying Packet Loss Rate across Users

open access: yes, 2013
The recent research has established an analogy between successive interference cancellation in slotted ALOHA framework and iterative belief-propagation erasure-decoding, which has opened the possibility to enhance random access protocols by utilizing ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
