Packet loss rate mapped to the quality of experience

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2016
In order to study the influence of packet loss on the users’ quality of experience QoE and establish the Mapping model of the two when the video transmit in the network, building a NS2 + MyEvalvid simulation platform, by the method of modifying QoS parameters to simulate different degrees of packet loss, focus on the influence of packet loss on QoE and

The analysis of packet loss prediction for Gilbert-model with loss rate uplink

Information Processing Letters, 2004
In this paper the analysis of packet loss for Gilbert-model with loss rate feedback is performed. Based on the historical loss rate feedbacks, an iterative algorithm can be derived to compute the conditional version of P(m, n), and which is the probability of m lost packets within a block of n packets.

On-line Packet Loss Rate Estimation

2005 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006
A key requirement for ease of migration from legacy to ambient networks is the elimination of dependencies between functionalities. Currently, in the case of designs for QoS and mobility in IP networks, it is apparent that there is a strong coupling between the two functions.

Statistical estimation of TCP packet loss rate from sampled ACK packets

GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005
The appearance of various quality-sensitive applications has greatly changed the requirements for network management. To manage the quality of these applications, monitoring of individual traffic flows, as well as aggregated traffic statistics, has become more important.

Video packet loss rate prediction over delay-prone packet-based networks

2015 International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM), 2015
The continuous advancement in communication technology has introduced many video communication applications. The rise in demand for these applications has brought about an increase in bandwidth consumption. Despite the ability of the new generation of technology to render this need, challenges on transmitting a video with good quality over networks ...
