Influence of rice growth on the fate of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in a subtropical paddy field: A life cycle study

open access: yes, 2015
We measured the concentrations and profiles of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the soil, water, and rice tissues from a typical subtropical paddy system at various stages of rice growth over two growing seasons.

Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...

Distribution of Vegetation and Soil Seed Banks Across Habitat Types in Paddy Fields Under Different Farming Practices

open access: yesPlants
Paddy field ecosystems are crucial for crop production, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem services. Although previous studies have examined paddy field biodiversity, few have addressed how the distribution and species richness of vegetation and ...

PEMANFAATAN FUSI DATA SATELIT LAPAN-A3/IPB DAN LANDSAT 8 UNTUK MONITORING LAHAN SAWAH

open access: yesJournal of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, 2018
Increasing of economic development is generally followed by the change of landuse from agriculture to other function. If it occurs in large frequency and amount, it will threaten national food security.

Carbon Organic Content under Organic and Conventional Paddy Field and its Effect on Biological Activities (A Case Study in Pati Regency, Indonesia)

open access: yesCaraka Tani: Journal of Sustainable Agriculture, 2020
The low organic matter content of paddy soils impacts the declining quality of land. Without the efforts to enrich the soil organic matter (SOM) content, the productivity of paddy fields will decrease or the need for inorganic fertilizers will increase ...

Field ponding water exacerbates the dissemination of manure-derived antibiotic resistance genes from paddy soil to surrounding waterbodies

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
Farmlands fertilized with livestock manure-derived amendments have become a hot topic in the dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). Field ponding water connects rice paddies with surrounding water bodies, such as reservoirs, rivers, and ...

Energy Band Alignment and Electro‐Optical Behavior of Nearly Unstrained Monolayer MoS2 Heterostructures With GaN

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Large size (∼100 µm) monolayer MoS2 grown by LPI‐CVD on n‐GaN exhibit a high n‐type doping, very low strain, and a type‐I band alignment at MoS2/GaN interface. Photocurrent measurements under illumination with photon energies from ∼2 to ∼5 eV show superior electro‐optical performances of these MoS2/n‐GaN heterojunctions as compared to Ni/n‐GaN devices ...

The Influence of Mesoscale Particle Structure on the Electrode Degradation and Resultant Electrochemistry of Lithium Ion Cells With Nickel Rich Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide Positive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Milled polycrystalline NMC811 cathode (MPC NMC) with smaller secondary particle and higher surface area had 1) greater cathode tortuosity, 2) reduced surface Ni on the cycled MPC cathodes consistent with surface reconstruction, and 3) increased Ni deposition from cathode‐anode crosstalk, manifesting in lower functional capacity and higher impedance ...

Fragmentation of Irrigated and Rainfed Paddy Field in Cianjur Regency, West Java

open access: yes, 2022
Paddy field is the agriculture land that produces rice and needs to be protected because of the threat of high conversion. In the period 2003-2013, paddy field in West Java Province has decreased by 9098 ha, while all of Indonesia increased by 235 538 ha
