‘LUMEN SUPERNATURALE ’ VS ‘LUMEN NATURALE ’: HUMAN RIGHTS AND THEIR RELIGIOUS IMPLICATIONS IN NATURAL LAW IN THE EARLY ENLIGHTENMENT (PUFENDORF – THOMASIUS – WOLFF)

open access: yesGerman Life and Letters, Volume 78, Issue 1, Page 16-30, January 2025.
ABSTRACT In the Middle Ages, the divine order was considered the standard of law. Natural law was thus derived from the divine order. In the Enlightenment, the problem of determining the content of natural law unambiguously, i.e., independently of personal viewpoints, was well known.

Choice Repetition Bias in Intertemporal Choice: An Eye‐Tracking Study

open access: yesJournal of Behavioral Decision Making, Volume 37, Issue 3, July 2024.
ABSTRACT Intertemporal choices (i.e., the choice between a sooner available but smaller reward and a later available but larger reward) were initially thought to reflect stable preferences for immediate or delayed rewards. However, recently, it has been shown that intertemporal choices are influenced by factors such as context variables and attentional

open access: yesThe Modern Law Review, Volume 87, Issue 3, Page 670-696, May 2024.

Biogeography of orchids and their pollination syndromes in small Mediterranean islands

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 51, Issue 5, Page 869-877, May 2024.
Abstract Aims Despite the research on orchid in insular conditions, few studies are focused on the spatial distribution of their reproductive syndromes across complex insular systems. By using island species–area relationships (ISAR), we explore orchid biogeography in the Central Western‐Mediterranean islands.

Wearable functional near‐infrared spectroscopy for measuring dissociable activation dynamics of prefrontal cortex subregions during working memory

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 45, Issue 2, 1 February, 2024.
Wearable high‐density functional near‐infrared spectroscopy captured neural activation dynamics across prefrontal subregions during a delayed match‐to‐sample task. Stimulus onset activated the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) first, followed by the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC); after the delay, the entire PFC deactivated.

Reconstructing the complex colonisation histories of lizards across Mediterranean archipelagos

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 51, Issue 2, Page 157-172, February 2024.
Abstract Aim The Mediterranean Basin is a global biodiversity hotspot and has one of the longest histories of human–biota interactions.
