Invasive Fungal Infections After Intestine Transplantation: Epidemiology and Outcomes. [PDF]

open access: yesMycoses
ABSTRACT Background Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) represent a major complication after intestine transplantation, with reported incidence rates between 40% and 49%. These infections are associated with high morbidity and allograft loss. This study evaluates the impact of post‐transplant IFIs on graft outcomes in intestine transplant recipients ...

Paecilomyces pyelonephritis in a patient with urolithiasis

open access: yesIndian Journal of Urology, 2007
Fungal organisms are increasingly implicated in nosocomial urinary tract infections. Although Candida, Mucor and Aspergillus are the most commonly identified species, rare fungi are also occasionally observed to infect humans. Misidentification of the organism could result in treatment with an inappropriate antifungal agent, which could result in a ...

Paecilomyces Rot: A New Apple Disease [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2018
Paecilomyces niveus is an important food spoilage fungus that survives thermal processing in fruit products, where it produces the mycotoxin patulin. Spoilage of products has been attributed to soil contamination; however, little is known about the ecology of this organism.
