Effect of Paecilomyces lilacinus on the viability of oncospheres of Taenia hydatigena

Veterinary Parasitology, 2005
Paecilomyces lilacinus (Thom) Samson is a saprophytic hyphomycete from the soil with biological activity on helminth eggs. We evaluated the influence in vitro of P. lilacinus on the viability of the oncospheres from Taenia hydatigena, a parasite cestode of dogs and sheep.

[Conditions for dextranase formation by Paecilomyces lilacinus].

Wei sheng wu xue bao = Acta microbiologica Sinica, 1993
Induced formation conditions of dextranase by Paecilomyces lilacinus were investigated. Effect of various carbohydrates on dextranase formation was examined, dextran was the best C-source and as an inducer. The effect of dextran with different molecular weight (from 17.2 to 1000 kD) on dextranase formation was compared, productivity of dextranase ...

Cutaneous mycosis caused by Paecilomyces lilacinus.

Archives of dermatology, 1978
A 20-year-old woman had erythematous scaly plaques persistent for 15 years on the left cheek. Cultures from scales and biopsy specimens on Sabouraud's glucose agar repeatedly yielded floccose lilac colonies, and those on a Czapek's solution agar plate developed deep purplish red pigment, which is characteristic of Paecilomyces lilacinus.

Purpureocillium, a new genus for the medically important Paecilomyces lilacinus.

FEMS microbiology letters, 2011
Paecilomyces lilacinus was described more than a century ago and is a commonly occurring fungus in soil. However, in the last decade this fungus has been increasingly found as the causal agent of infections in man and other vertebrates. Most cases of disease are described from patients with compromised immune systems or intraocular lens implants.
