The Effect of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on Barley Seedling Growth, Nutrient Uptake, Some Soil Properties, and Bacterial Counts [PDF]
This study was conducted with barley in greenhouse conditions in order to investigate seed inoculation with 5 different N2-fixing (Bacillus licheniformis RC02, Rhodobacter capsulatus RC04, Paenibacillus polymyxa RC05, Pseudomonas putida RC06, and ...

Identification of two strains of Paenibacillus sp. as indole 3 acetic acid-producing rhizome-associated endophytic bacteria from Curcuma longa [PDF]
Curcuma longa is well known for its use as spice and medicine. The remarkable feature of the plant is the presence of rhizome, which provides an interesting habitat for association by various groups of bacteria.

Paenibacillus polymyxa PKB1 Produces Variants of Polymyxin B-Type Antibiotics
Polymyxins are cationic lipopeptide antibiotics active against many species of Gram-negative bacteria. We sequenced the gene cluster for polymyxin biosynthesis from Paenibacillus polymyxa PKB1. The 40.8 kb gene cluster comprises three nonribosomal peptide synthetase-encoding genes and two ABC transporter-like genes.

Introgression of Resistance Against Leptosphaeria maculans From Brassica juncea Into Brassica napus
Introgression of blackleg‐specific resistance genes from Brassica juncea into B. napus was conducted. Genotyping/phenotyping found this material may contain previously uncharacterised resistance against the blackleg pathogen. ABSTRACT Blackleg disease is caused by the fungal plant pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans.

A glucuronoxylan-specific xylanase from a new Paenibacillus favisporus strain isolated from tropical soil of Brazil [PDF]
A new xylanolytic strain, Paenibacillus favisporus CC02-N2, was isolated from sugarcane plantation fi elds in Brazil. The strain had a xylan-degrading system with multiple enzymes, one of which, xylanase Xyn30A, was identifi ed and characterized.

Occurrence, distribution and genetic diversity of soil Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria in soils of different chemical characteristics in Kenya [PDF]
Phosphorus (P) availability in many soils is limited by high fixation and precipitation reactions, rendering it inaccessible for plant uptake. The ability to convert insoluble forms of P to an accessible form is an important trait in plant growth ...
