To hydrolyze or not to hydrolyze: the dilemma of platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase
Mounting ambiguity persists around the functional role of the plasma form of platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH). Because PAF-AH hydrolyzes PAF and related oxidized phospholipids, it is widely accepted as an anti-inflammatory enzyme.

Chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) remains a significant clinical problem despite modern antiemetics. In particular, antiemetic strategies for emerging cancer therapies lack detailed evaluation. This randomized trial analyzed hourly CINV data for patients with early breast cancer who received either docetaxel plus cyclophosphamide (TC) or ...

PAF-acetylhydrolase expressed during megakaryocyte differentiation inactivates PAF-like lipids
AbstractPlatelet activating factor (PAF) and PAF-like lipids induce inflammatory responses in target cells. These lipid mediators are inactivated by PAF-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH). The PAF signaling system affects the growth of hematopoietic CD34+ cells, but roles for PAF-AH in this process are unknown.

Plasma platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) is the enzyme that inactivates PAF (1-alkyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine). We determined the relative contributions of genetic and environmental factors to variation in plasma PAF-AH ...

Herbaria worldwide hold centuries of plant data that are key to understanding and protecting biodiversity; however, even with increased digital access, differences in plant naming systems make it difficult to compare records. We developed a semi‐automated workflow that standardises species names and organises herbaria records from multiple institutions

We systematically summarize how each scale dictates fundamental choices in design feature, manufacturing technology, driving mechanism, and control strategy, which are inherently governed by scale‐dominated physical principles. Furthermore, the application of scale‐determined operation modes of microrobots across different stages of medical ...
