Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Variability in grain, flour, functional properties and protein profiling in newly developed wheat genotypes grown in temperate climate of Western Himalayas

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
BackgroundSince wheat varieties and breeding lines developed by plant breeders in the western Himalayan region (Kashmir) have received limited attention with respect to their physical and protein quality characterization, the focus of the study is to ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Improved PageRank Algorithm Based on User Behavior and Page Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2016
In classical PageRank algorithm, transition probability of page is equally distributed to the outlinks. There are few links of new page,so its PR value is generally low.Classical PageRank algorithm is used to calculate the PR value through links, without ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Local and Union Page Numbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We introduce the novel concepts of local and union book embeddings, and, as the corresponding graph parameters, the local page number ${\rm pn}_\ell(G)$ and the union page number ${\rm pn}_u(G)$. Both parameters are relaxations of the classical page number ${\rm pn}(G)$, and for every graph $G$ we have ${\rm pn}_\ell(G) \leq {\rm pn}_u(G) \leq {\rm pn}(

Cell density–dependent nuclear‐cytoplasmic shuttling of SETDB1 integrates with Hippo signaling to regulate YAP1‐mediated transcription

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...
