LC–MS/MS application for urine free pyridinoline and free deoxypyridinoline: Urine markers of collagen and bone degradation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Pyridinium cross-links Pyridinoline (PYD) and Deoxypyridinoline (DPD) are established markers of collagen degradation. Measurement of PYD and DPD can be used to evaluate changes in bone turnover in patients with metabolic bone disease and to ...

Molecular Alterations in Osteosarcomas of the Oral and Maxillofacial Region: A Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Oral Pathology &Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Given the rarity and aggressive nature of osteosarcomas (OS) in the oral and maxillofacial region, understanding their molecular alterations is essential to improve diagnosis, prognosis, and guide targeted therapies. This study aimed to map molecular alterations associated with oral and maxillofacial OS, providing an overview of the

Metastatic Spine Disease Alters Vertebral Load‐To‐Strength Ratios in Cancer Patients Compared to Healthy Individuals

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
This study investigated the effect of spinal bone metastasis (BM) on the biomechanical environment of the spine through estimates of load, strength, and the load‐to‐strength ratio (LSR). Our study suggests that task‐specific differences related to cancer, lesion type, and vertebral location differentially affect the biomechanical environment of the ...

Fanconi Syndrome After a Single Exposure to Intravenous Zoledronic Acid

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Bisphosphonates are commonly used to reduce fracture risk in patients with osteoporosis, in those with malignant metastatic bone disease and for treatment of malignant hypercalcaemia. We present the case of a woman in her 80s admitted with recurrent falls who developed Fanconi syndrome after a single dose of intravenous Zoledronic acid despite
