Raman spectroscopic determination of the length, strength, compressibility, Debye temperature, elasticity, and force constant of the C-C bond in graphene

open access: yes, 2011
From the perspective of bond relaxation and vibration, we have reconciled the Raman shifts of graphene under the stimuli of the number-of-layer, uni-axial-strain, pressure, and temperature in terms of the response of the length and strength of the ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Lone‐Pair Shielded Radicals: Beyond the Captodative Substitution Pattern

open access: yesChemistryEurope
We have quantum chemically analyzed how substituents R affect the carboncarbon bond strength in 1,2‐disubstituted ethane, RH2CCH2R (R = H, CH3, NH2, OH, F), using density functional theory.

Changes in Behavior and Ultrasonic Vocalizations During Pair Bonding and in Response to an Infidelity Challenge in Monogamous California Mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2018
Despite recent exciting research about pair bonding, little is known about how mammalian vocalizations change with the initiation and maintenance of pair bonding in monogamous species.

Ring Exchange Mechanism for Triplet Superconductivity in a Two-Chain Hubbard Model: Possible Relevance to Bechgaard Salts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The density-matrix renormalization group method is used to study the ground state of the two-chain zigzag-bond Hubbard model at quarter filling. We show that, with a proper choice of the signs of hopping integrals, the ring exchange mechanism yields ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Vector Bond Graph Method of Kineto-static Analysis for Planar Multi-body System with Gear Pair

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
In order to increase the reliability and efficiency of the kineto-static analysis of complex planar multi-body system, the corresponding vector bond graph method is proposed.According to the kinematic constraint condition, the vector bond graph model of a ...

Bonding titanium to Rene 41 alloy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Pair of intermediate materials joined by electron beam welding method welds titanium to Rene 41 alloy. Bond is necessary for combining into one structure high strength-to-density ratio titanium fan blades and temperature resistant nickel-base alloy ...

Projected Entangled Pair States at Finite Temperature: Iterative Self-Consistent Bond Renormalization for Exact Imaginary Time Evolution

open access: yes, 2015
A projected entangled pair state (PEPS) with ancillas can be evolved in imaginary time to obtain thermal states of a strongly correlated quantum system on a 2D lattice.

Bond pairs and the term structure

open access: yesJournal of Financial Research
AbstractIn the US Treasury bond market, the existence of a bond pair (two bonds with the same maturity but different coupons) is shown to allow the computation of the zero‐coupon interest rate for that maturity directly from the bond prices, as well as the zero‐coupon interest rates for adjacent maturity bonds with the same number of coupon payments ...
