KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Efficient Pairing-Free Certificateless Authentication Scheme With Batch Verification for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The continuous progress of the wireless communication technology provides an intelligent and efficient transportation system through vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETS) to mitigate traffic jams and road fatalities, which improves safety of passengers and ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Pairing-Free ID-Based Signatures as Secure as Discrete Logarithm in AGM

open access: yes
Identity-based signatures (IBS) allow the signer’s identity information to be used as the public key for signature verification, eliminating the need for managing certificates to establish ownership of the corresponding public key.

Loop Entropy Assists Tertiary Order: Loopy Stabilization of Stacking Motifs

open access: yesEntropy, 2011
The free energy of an RNA fold is a combination of favorable base pairing and stacking interactions competing with entropic costs of forming loops. Here we show how loop entropy, surprisingly, can promote tertiary order.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Entanglement model for mode-pairing quantum key distribution

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Mode-pairing (MP) quantum key distribution (QKD) eliminates the requirements of phase locking and phase tracking compared with twin field (TF) QKD while still surpassing the fundamental rate-distance limit of QKD.
