Palm kernel meal as a feed for poultry. 2. Diets containing palm kernel meal for starter and grower pullets

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1986
Two experiments were carried out to establish the level at which palm kernel meal can replace groundnut cake in the diets of starter and grower pullets and also to investigate the carry-over effect of palm kernel meal given during the growing stage on laying performance.

Nutritional status of palm kernel meal inoculated with Trichoderma Harzanium

Nigerian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
The ability of Trichoderma harzanium to improve the nutritional status of palm kernel meal (P K M) was assessed over forty days of fermentation. Fermentation within this time period induced various changes in the proximate and mineral analysis of the palm kernel meal.

Palm kernel meal as a feed for poultry. 3. Replacement of groundnut cake by palm kernel meal in broiler diets

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1986
Abstract A total of 528 Ross broiler birds were used in two experiments to establish to what extent palm kernel meal can be used to replace groundnut cake in the starting and finishing diets of broiler chickens and to study the effect of such replacements on rate of gain, cost of production and carcass characteristics.

Effect of Cyclic Heat Exposure on the Growth Performance and Metabolism of Broilers Fed Palm Kernel Meal

Animal Research and One Health
The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction between heat stress (HS) and the incorporation of palm kernel meal (PKM) in broiler chicken diets, as well as their effects on growth performance and metabolism.

Effect of different processing methods on the chemical compositions of palm kernel meals

Animal Production Research Advances, 2010
The study presents comparative proximate and amino acid composition of two differently processed palm kernel meals (PKM) as poultry and livestock feed. The results of the proximate analysis showed 21.35% crude protein (CP) for locally extracted palm kernel meal compared to 14.73% CP for industrial palm kernel meal.

Behaviour changes in broiler chicks fed on diets containing palm kernel meal

Applied Animal Behaviour Science, 1991
The behaviour of broiler chicks fed on diets containing palm kernel meal (PKM) was monitored. In Experiment 1, PKM of 142 g crude fibre kg−1 was incorporated in the diet at 0 (control) and 500 g kg−1 (5PKM1), the latter diet containing 63 g supplemental maize oil kg−1.

The biotin requirement of broilers feed maize-palm kernel meal based ration.

Beitrage zur tropischen Landwirtschaft und Veterinarmedizin, 1992
6 duplicate floor pens with 20-day-old commercial broiler chicks each, were fed practical-type broiler diet with maize-palm kernel meal, supplemented with graded levels of biotin so that the rations had 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, and 240 micrograms of the vitamin per kg of feed. This treatment was maintained for 6 weeks. Estimation of the body weight, feed
