Characterization of Arenga pinnata (Palm) Sugar
Sugar Tech, 2017Information on the quality parameters of Arenga pinnata (palm) sugar and its composition is very limited, although the sugar has been consumed by the local people in some tropical countries for decades. This study aimed at the characterization of A. pinnata sugar through an examination of its physicochemical attributes.

A novel biocomposite where both natural fibre and matrix are derived from underutilized parts of sugar palm tree was successfully developed. This 100% green materials can lead to solve depletion and non degradable polymer waste disposal problems. Unfortunately, since moisture absorption is a matter of concern in biocomposites, the effect of water ...

Sugars identified in Raphia palm wine
Food Chemistry, 1981Abstract In a study of sugars of Raphia palm wine, eight palm trees of the Raphia hookeri species were tapped. Nine sugars were identified from the palm wine samples. Colorimetric determination of the sugars showed that sucrose, glucose and fructose decreased in concentration during the 22-day period of tapping the Raphia palm trees.

Palm sugar—A plantation industry in India
Economic Botany, 1966The sweet juice obtained fromi the different sugar-yielding palms in India is a rich source of sucrose. Sucrose from sugar cane, sugar beet, and other sources is the samiie; its characteristics do not change, though its sources are different. But the white crystalline sugar obtained by ordinary methods of manufacture retains, to a certain extent ...
