Comparison of Uncovered and Covered Biliary SEMS for the Salvage of Obstructed SEMS: A Multicenter Retrospective Propensity Score–Weighted Study

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, EarlyView.
In patients undergoing secondary SEMS placement after initial uncovered stent failure, fully covered and uncovered SEMSs showed comparable patency, survival, and safety. However, mechanisms of recurrent biliary obstruction differed by stent type, with tumor ingrowth in uncovered SEMSs and sludge or food impaction in fully covered SEMSs.

Unusual Giant Sialocyst Arising From Wharton's Duct: A Case Report

open access: yesOral Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Head and neck masses in adults are a common reason for referral to maxillofacial surgeons and otolaryngologists, and most are benign. True salivary duct cysts (sialocysts) are extremely rare, accounting for < 1% of salivary duct lesions, and primarily involve minor salivary glands. Involvement of major salivary glands is exceptional,

Pancreatic Mucinous Cystic Neoplasm of the Main Pancreatic Duct

open access: yesArchives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, 2011
Abstract Mucinous cystic neoplasm and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm are 2 types of cystic pancreatic mucinous tumors, each with its own distinct clinicopathologic features and pathogenetic mechanisms. We report here an unusual pancreatic mucinous neoplasm with features of both a mucinous cystic neoplasm and an intraductal ...
